How do I know if physiotherapy can help me?

Physiotherapists treat a wide range of health conditions ranging from an acute sports injury and chronic back pain to post-op rehab and shin splints. Some common conditions we treat include headaches, sciatica, lower back pain, and knee pain. Our physiotherapists at Cohesion Physiotherapy also provide sports physiotherapy and have training in treating dizziness and vertigo. Even though we treat a wide range of conditions, new patients have the option to indicate the reason for seeking physiotherapy when booking for an initial assessment online.


Do I need to see my family doctor or go to a walk-in clinic first?

No, registered physiotherapists in Ontario are primary health care professionals and can provide care to patients without a referral from your family doctor. If you plan on using your extended health care, your provider may require a doctor’s referral in order to reimburse you. Please check with your extended health care provider for more information.


Are the physiotherapy services provided at Cohesion Physiotherapy covered by OHIP?

No, Cohesion Physiotherapy is a private physiotherapy clinic and the physiotherapy services provided at Cohesion Physiotherapy are NOT covered by OHIP. Please visit Get Physiotherapy for more information on government-funded physiotherapy services.


What should I wear for my physiotherapy sessions?

You should wear the type of clothing that allows your physiotherapist to have access to the body parts being examined and treated.


How long are the sessions?

Initial assessments are 60 min with treatment. Follow-up sessions are 30 min with on going re-assessment.


Do you accept patients with extended health care?

Yes, payments are due at the end of each session and a receipt will be provided for you to submit to your extended health care provider for reimbursement.


Do you accept WSIB claims?

No, we do NOT accept WSIB claims.


What is the cancellation policy?

We require a 24-hour notice for a change or cancellation of appointments. Missed appointments without 24-hour notice will be billed accordingly.
